Rayonier Site Program and Name.

We've been throwing back and forth some ideas about the what types of programs the Rayonier site can hold: a Center for Mutual Understanding; a Research Center; a mariner museum; an interpretive Jamestown-type park; a conference center; shipbuilding; mixed use....

The idea for a center of understanding based around Tribal culture is actually a long-term plan at Crazy Horse. Mark and I found about this when we went this past summer. Check out information about their master plan: http://www.crazyhorsememorial.org/about/future.html

Another question: What should the Rayonier Site be called? Ultimately, this may be determined by a number of different factors, but should we continue to call it "Rayonier?" Seems like it might be time to coin something new and move on from the site's toxic history...

Rayonier Site Physical Model Construction

I like the ideas about the model thus far. What do we want to get from this model? I think the interaction of all of us gathered around cutting foam and sticking them on a base will be extremely informative. I propose we look at cutting this thing up into strategic 2' sections so we can actually move it from place to place.
